Custom Orders

Ole Lare takes great care to ensure that every custom wood work piece sold meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Customer satisfaction with my products is of the utmost importance to me.

Custom orders require a 50% non-refundable down payment to reserve a spot in our production queue. We source materials and begin production immediately upon receipt of your down payment.

Custom Order Process

Standard turn around for most custom orders is within 2-8 weeks of order placement. Estimated completion dates are subject to change. If delays occur, we will promptly notify you and establish your new completion date.

Ole Lare will deliver/ship your finished order upon receipt of the final payment. All sales are final, and we do not accept cancellations or returns on custom orders.

Completion of the Custom Order Form by the customer is the first step. This starts the custom ordering process and must be completed prior to the initial appointment. Ole Lare will contact you after receiving your Custom Order Form to schedule the appointment.

The Initial appointment is where we will review your custom order form in detail to capture the style, design, and desired outcomes of the final product you envision. Areas of product design not specifically covered by the customer will be left to Ole Lare’s artistic interpretation.

Follow up to initial appointment will occur within 5 business days. Customers will be notified on the status of their custom order project from Ole Lare a) order acceptance with a rough design sketch, b) questions pertaining to a problem with order, c) rejection of order and referral if available.

Down Payment of 50% is required on all Custom orders to reserve a spot in our production queue. We source materials and begin production immediately upon receipt of your down payment.

Custom order delivery / shipping of your finished project order is contingent upon receipt of the final payment.

Shipping Process
Ole Lare’s pricing includes shipping and handling in the contiguous 48 United States.

We select the carrier and method of shipment based on the most economical shipping available. Orders will be packed and shipped within 5 business days from final approval and tracking details are provided once available.

Our standard shipping method for large, heavy orders is Curbside Freight (3-5 days). Each order is packaged in a wood crate to protect your piece from any potential damage. The freight company will contact you when your order is in your area to schedule the final delivery details.

Be mindful that your order may be of considerable length and weight. Motor freight carriers will provide delivery to your loading dock, parking lot, driveway, curbside, or other location to which the carrier can safely and legally back the truck up to, at driver’s discretion.

Receiving Process
Delivery drivers will not bring your furniture into your home. Please make sure you have the proper equipment and help available to receive your order. The crate/pallet will be delivered to the end of your driveway. You will need at least one additional helper to receive and uncrate your order on your scheduled delivery day. Please take care to meet your delivery driver on time and do not allow your custom wood work order to remain outside in the elements.

After inspecting and signing for the crate you will need to dismantle the crate carefully. Begin by removing the screws that hold the top cover of the crate in place. Ensure all screws are removed then lift gently on the top cover and set it aside. Carefully remove the packing materials and take contents into your home for assembly.

Damage During Shipment

We take great care when packaging your order. In the unlikely event that there is any damage during shipment, and it is visible when you receive your order, please have the delivery driver note the damage before you sign for delivery.

If your order is damaged to the point where it can possibly not be used, you should refuse the shipment, and we will get a replacement order made and shipped to you as soon as possible.

If there is concealed damage to your order and you find the product to be unacceptable, notify Ole Lare’s within 48 hours of any damage. Take photos of the damage and packaging and send them to olelare@olelares.com. Ole Lare’s will process a claim immediately with the shipping carrier and work on replacing or repairing the item at no cost to you.

Assembly

We dismount the table base before shipping and package separately. Your table will arrive with pre-drilled holes and screws included to ensure a quick and seamless installment of the table base. Installation instructions will be included with your table and base shipment.

Care & Maintenance

All fine wood works need protection from light, heat, and moisture to sustain the longevity of the piece. With proper care your piece will last many decades. No finish is indestructible by any means and requires care and consideration to maintain its lifespan.

Dry dust with a clean cotton or microfiber cloth. Wipe with a damp cloth and mild cleaner then promptly dry the surface. Do not use cleaning products containing ammonia, alcohol, bleach, or petroleum. Instead use a general-purpose wood cleaner. Avoid using furniture polish as over time it can accumulate and leave a residue.

Precautions
Direct sunlight exposure can cause color fading, as well as unwanted splits and/or twisting/cupping of the wood. Extreme temperature exposure may cause the wood to well or shrink due to moisture and humidity levels. Any wood movement, expansion and contraction with temperature and seasonal changes may cause small cracks/inclusions. These are all common occurrences but with proper care can be avoided or kept to a minimum. Temperatures in the home are recommended at 60-75F and 30-60% humidity.

Leaving glasses for several hours or overnight can cause water stains or rings to form from precipitation on any wood finish. Coasters under glasses will prevent water “rings” from damaging the finish of your custom wood works. Hot pads will also prevent heat from compromising the finish.
