My Story
“Ole Lare” is the nickname my mother chose for me, and I am honoring her by naming my company likewise. She raised a family of nine children providing for our every need through sacrifice and hard work. As I became an adult, I decided to show her how much her love and sacrifices meant to me. So, any project, repair or wish I learned about was immediately delivered. This brought her great joy and I in turn earned my nickname.
Each of us have our own authentic story to share with the world. Mine begins in Junction City, Kansas where I was born into a military family. I am number three of nine children. Junction City was located just a mile or so outside the gates of Fort Riley, Kansas where my father served in the United States Army.
We lived in many different locations across the U.S. and Europe during my first 18 years moving on average every two years. Children of military families learn to adapt and overcome at an exceedingly early age. For me, I started working at 12 years old babysitting and at 12 also learned to drive, thanks to my big brother. I bought my first lawn mower at 13 and worked full time while in high school at 14 washing dishes and cooking for $1.65 an hour. I purchased my own car and motorcycle before the age of 15 with my own money which was very gratifying.
I am grateful for the many lessons learned along my journey (so far) and look forward to those that lie ahead. Strong unwavering convictions, adaptability, and the tenacity to succeed whatever the challenge. My wonderful mother taught these and many more important values to our family while our father served this great country as an army soldier for 35 years including three tours in Vietnam.
